Feature Space For Learning From Home

This fall, many school systems will reopen for in-person learning, but home learning spaces still seem to be an in-demand home feature.

What Are Buyers Looking For?

In an article recently published by NAR, data is cited which shows that advertising a listing having space for children’s learning at home has only increased over the past year (by almost 60%). The article also contends that, in some market segments, listings with these spaces represented are selling at a significantly faster pace than homes that do not list it as a feature. In fact, the article goes as far as stating that, in order to appeal to more buyers, some sellers are sacrificing previously sought after spaces (such as second offices or “caves”) in order to repurpose them as dedicated zones for distraction-free learning.

How To Highlight These Spaces

There are several options that can be selected from to showcase these spaces. If one already exists in your listing, our photographers can capture it with our industry-best listing photography, gimbal-stabilized property tour videos, and in Matterport 3D tours. Before listing photography is completed, the room should be readied in a very similar way to home offices. See our Pre-Appointment Guide for more information. Showing an existing space with these high-quality resources is sure to appeal to buyers.

If your listing has a space which could be used for at-home learning but which isn’t currently set up to accommodate this use, virtual staging is worth considering. Our photographer will take a standard interior photograph of the space, and our editing team will then digitally stage it to allow buyers to see the potential of the room for that purpose.
