Listings sell the fastest when they hit the market on a Thursday.
According to this article published by Zillow Research, the ideal day of the week to list a home (if speed of sale is the goal) is on a Thursday and before Labor Day.
Why?
Zillow Research reports that nearly 21% of homes are already listed on a Thursday, but to what degree does it actually matter?
The research presented by Zillow shows that the average difference in time from listing to pending is, in fact, days lower for a home listed on Thursday compared to other days of the week.
They go on to report that listing the home on a Sunday results in an average time increase from listing to pending of 8 days.
It is worth noting that the data that Zillow has pulled to draw these conclusions is from 2019, in order to look at the last full year of data before the pandemic hit. They are transparent that our current market is so competitive that the trends may be different moving forward.
